Port Pirie Medical Centre promotes a holistic approach to health and encourages preventative health care. We recommend you have a usual treating General Practitioner, as continuity of care is important for your health. This means that your GP gets to know you and your particular health needs in depth. However, if you need urgent attention and your GP is not available, you are able to consult with another GP on duty that day. The GP’s at Port Pirie Medical Centre have special interests and additional qualifications in areas such as medical education, mental health, children’s health, chronic disease management and pre-employment medicals.

Our Practice Nurses have additional training and expertise in multiple areas including immunisations, diabetes care, lung function testing and asthma education.

Port Pirie Medical Centre GP’s are committed to all individuals and families in the Port Pirie community by providing good general practice care. Our aim is to provide preventative care and health education.

We work closely with the Port Pirie Regional Health Service, Community Health and Mental Health Services, physiotherapists, visiting specialists, dentists and many other health service providers.
