Bulk Billing at Port Pirie Medical Centre
Port Pirie Medical Centre participates in the Medicare Bulk Billing system. This means there are no out-of-pocket costs for patients covered by Medicare, except for certain skin procedures.
To be eligible for bulk billing, please ensure you bring a valid Medicare card to your appointment. If you have a pension or concession card, please present
that as well.
Patients who do not have a current Medicare card will be required to pay a consultation fee of $79.20, or potentially subject to a higher fee, payable at the
time of the visit.
Important Notes:
- The GAP payment is expected at the end of each consultation, this is an out of pocket expense to the patient and cannot be claimed back from Medicare. The remainder of your account will be bulk-billed to Medicare directly for payment.
- A non-attendance fee will apply if you fail to attend your appointment or give sufficient notice for a cancellation. This fee is required to be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
- All patients aged 16 years of age and under will be bulk billed to Medicare.
- All concession card and/or health care card holders will be bulk billed to Medicare.
- Concession and Health Care card holders must carry their valid card with them to all appointments. Reception staff may need to up-date your card details occasionally.
